CareTV: today’s build in pictures and video

Today’s work connects several pieces of the same accessibility architecture: a zero-memory family-photo ingest job, replacement of three proprietary Swann cameras with standards-based IP cameras, a fourth new garage camera, local-first storage, PoE networking, and the beginning of a local fax/SMS/voice communications layer driven from one CareTV web interface.

What changed today

Cameras: three already-wired proprietary Swann cameras are being replaced — two at the front door and one covering the back door. They already return to the office PoE network. The new garage camera is the fourth camera in today’s broader build and gets a new Cat6/Cat6A run.

Photo ingest: the target is an intentionally tiny human workflow: feed ordinary 4×6 photographs; CareTV handles filenames, preservation, enhancement, OCR where useful, AI-assisted identification, indexing, and backup.

Local-first: the authoritative development tree belongs on local storage and S3, not OneDrive or ChatGPT upload storage. The JavaScript developer interface talks to a local agent that owns filesystem, publishing, credentials, and communications adapters.

Communications: fax, SMS, and voice transcription are being designed as provider-neutral local services under the same API instead of separate phone/fax apps.
