One rule governs everything tonight

Nothing may depend on Mom remembering a special procedure.

No holding buttons for five seconds. No special sequences. No passwords. No remembering which input to select. No recovery ritual after a power outage.

The installer does the complicated work once. After that, the equipment should behave automatically.

Tonight's order — do not branch

1. Bedroom PC automatically survives power loss
↓
2. Bedside Bluetooth conference mic reconnects automatically
↓
3. Hisense Fire TV becomes a permanent HDMI 1 display

Bedroom PC: automatic power recovery

Goal: if electricity goes off and comes back, the PC turns itself on.

We are configuring the MINISFORUM bedroom PC as an appliance, not as an ordinary personal computer.

Find the BIOS setting for automatic power-on after AC power returns.
Set it to Power On / Always On, not Last State.
Keep Wake Up On LAN = Enabled.
Keep Wake Up by RTC = Disabled.
Keep ERP = Disabled.
Save BIOS settings and boot Windows.
Test it for real: unplug AC, wait, restore AC, and verify that the PC boots without touching its power button.
PASS condition: power returns → PC boots by itself.
Do not move to Step 2 until this passes.

Bedside Bluetooth conference mic/speaker

Goal: the bedside conference device is connected to the always-on PC and comes back automatically after reboot.

Pair the bedside Bluetooth conference mic/speaker with the bedroom Windows PC.
Set it as the intended Windows microphone input.
Set it as the intended Windows speaker/output when appropriate.
Test speech from Mom's bed and confirm the PC receives clear audio.
Test PC audio back through the bedside speaker.
Restart the PC and verify that the Bluetooth device reconnects without anyone touching it.
PASS condition: reboot → Windows starts → bedside conference mic reconnects automatically.
Mom must never be responsible for pairing or reconnecting Bluetooth.

Hisense Fire TV: get Fire TV out of the way

Goal: the television behaves like a plain HDMI 1 monitor.

Example from tonight: pressing Power produced Ambient Experience artwork instead of a black screen. This is the behavior Step 3 is intended to eliminate.

Normal resident behavior must be only this:

Press Power once → screen goes black
Press Power once again → TV returns to HDMI 1
Set power-on behavior to HDMI 1 or Last Input with HDMI 1 established as the last input.
Turn Ambient Experience OFF.
Disable any screensaver/idle artwork that can replace HDMI 1.
Disable promotional autoplay audio/video where Fire TV exposes those settings.
Prevent unwanted HDMI input switching. HDMI-CEC should remain off unless CareTV intentionally needs it later.
Leave the television on HDMI 1 when configuration is complete.
Test Power three times from HDMI 1.
PASS condition: HDMI 1 → one normal Power press → black screen → one normal Power press → HDMI 1.
Disqualified solutions: “hold Power for 5 seconds,” “press Home twice,” “choose HDMI every time,” or anything else that depends on memory.

What we are NOT doing tonight

Do not branch into unrelated setup while these three items are unfinished.

No new camera features.
No CareTV UI development.
No additional network reconfiguration unless required to complete one of the three tasks above.
No device-shopping detours unless a missing piece of hardware blocks tonight's work.

CareTV installation principle

Professional setup once. Resident operation forever after should be obvious, automatic, and forget-proof.

CareTV caregivers/installers handle setup, network configuration, passwords, recovery behavior, device pairing, and maintenance. The resident should experience only the useful function.

End-of-night checklist

PC autoboot after power loss verified.
Bluetooth conference mic/speaker reconnect after reboot verified.
Fire TV Power button gives darkness with one normal press.
Fire TV returns directly to HDMI 1 with one normal press.
No resident memory procedure remains.
